Certified Iron Butt…

Back in August 2019 Sandy and I rode just over 1000 miles in about 17 hours for the Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000 Challenge. I submitted the documentation of the ride and the necessary paper work to the Iron Butt Association to have the ride certified and… we did it!!!

Well we knew we did it, but the ride has now been officially certified by the Iron Butt Association. The package with our certificates and other goodies arrived in the mail this weekend.
Iron Butt Association Saddle Sore 1000 Certificate
The certificate reads: “This is to Certify that on the 17th of August, 2019, Hersey and Sandy Cartwright rode a 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide two-up a total of 1,047 miles in less than twenty-four hours starting in Suffolk, Virginia continuing on to Emporia, Virginia; Florence, South Carolina; Townsend, Georgia; Fayetteville, North Carolina and Disputanta, Virginia before returning to Suffolk while participating in the Saddle Sore 1000.”

Our names are not up on the Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000 Certified Site yet… but we should be listed on there in a few days.

Pretty cool. Looking forward to planning the next one.
