Almost there…
April 16, 2020Did a little work on the 1988 Sportster project last night and she is almost ready to take for a ride. Nowhere near finished, but almost to the point I should be able to hop on and take her for a spin.

Did a bit of tinkering on the 1988 Sportster over the weekend. Got the oil tank painted, mounted, and plumbed up. Looks pretty good on there.

While I was waiting for the paint on the tank to dry I worked on getting the 1992 EVO Project wired up and put a battery in it this weekend. I picked up a complete main wiring harness on eBay a while…
Just a quick short update. Started working wiring things up. Unfortunately there is not enough clearance between the rear fender and starter to mount the circuit breakers where I wanted them, so I have to figure something else out.
Made a fair bit of progress on the EVO project this weekend. Time to start working toward getting her running. Want to get her to start before putting a bunch more money into other functional and cosmetic pieces (like controls, lights, etc.)
Installed a cheap tachometer on the 1990 Sportster. I’ll upgrade it to something nicer one day, or not. Really only installed it cause the wiring was already there and it was cheap.
The wiring on the bike was a mess. Along the way someone installed a bunch of extra junk (turn signal canceller, brake flasher, etc) and moved a bunch of stuff around. Previous owner said it had fatbob tanks with a dash on…
